JAMMU, Aug 11: J&K Govt Retirees, Pensioner, Employees Association has drawn the immediate attention of the concerned authorities, public representatives and also general public to the long standing and unresolved grievance of pensioners, daily wages and Govt employees.
In a meeting of the Association held here today the organization said that these issues are not isolated incident but reflect widespread systematic problems that require urgent intervention. Despite years of dedicated services, several irregularities and delays have occurred causing mental, emotional and financial distress to many pensioners.
With holding or delaying post-retirement dues is a violation of constitutional right to life and dignity under Article 21 of the Constitution of India and most unjustified act. Pension related benefits cannot be stopped are legal entitlements, not favours. They are earned after years honest and dedicated public service.
The suffering caused by the delays has resulted immense mental, emotional and financial stress among the senior citizens. Many retired employees are experiencing unacceptable delays often ranging from a year in receiving their Gratuity, GP Fund, Commuted Loan etc. which is retirement benefits, employees own hard earned saving etc.
This impact their ability to manage crucial life expenses such as medical treatment, education/ marriage of children, land purchase, house repair etc.
They demanded release of these dues, enhancement of Medical Allowance of pensioners and employees, release of 18 months pending DA arrears, early release of 4 % DA due from July 1st, regularization of daily rated workers, restore Old Pension Scheme, appoint Chairman & Members of 8th Pay Commission besides and release of GPF/ Gratuity of Govt employees and pensioners
Those who attended the meeting included Rampal Chopra, Ashok Sharma, Charan Dass, RL Bhat, Rattan Lal, Satpal, Vidya Bhushan, PL Sharma, Bhumlesh Gupta, Satvir Singh, Jagdish Singh, Ashwani Sharma, JS Billowaria, Kamal Sharma, Vijay Kumar, Balwan Singh, Uttam Singh and others.
