JAMMU, Sept 5: A decomposed body of a woman was recovered from Prithvipur Village falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Bishnah today.
Police identified the deceased woman as Babli Devi (35) wife of Ram Pal of Naugran Bishnah.
Her body was spotted by some villagers near the Old Bat Factory at Prithvipur Village, who informed the police, a police official said.
Accordingly, a police team took custody of the body and shifted it to CHC RS Pura, from where it was further shifted to Government Medical College Jammu for conducting the post-mortem examination, he said.
According to the police official, the woman was reported missing by her family members some days back at Police Station Bishnah.
Meanwhile, police have initiated inquest proceedings to ascertain the cause of her death.
