JAMMU, July 20: Diploma Engineers Association (DEA) today demanded for early release of the promotion list of diploma holder engineers from the post of Junior Engineers to Assistant Engineers.
In a press release released here, the Association alleged that due to dilly-dallying approach of the departments concerned over the promotion of diploma holder engineers can be gauged from this fact that against the 22 sanctioned posts of Executive Engineers and 86 posts of Assistant Engineers of diploma engineers, only three posts of Executive Engineers and six posts of Assistant Engineers are fulfilled.
“The stagnated Junior Engineer from the diploma cadre are awaiting their first promotion after rendering 35 years of service in the department but the department concerned seems least bothered about it,” they said.
They also expressed hope that Principal Secretary Jal Shakti Department, Ashok Parmar shall appoint these engineers on the posts of Assistant Engineers as an interim relief at the earliest, which otherwise maximum of them are going to attain superannuation by 2025.
Chairman Anil Gupta, Narinder Singh (Vice-president), Arshad Parvaz (President PHE unit) and Pardeep Fotedar and Arunesh Sharma were present during the meeting.
