JAMMU, Mar 11: DDC Member Suchetgarh Taranjit Singh Tony today demanded de-reservation of Suchetgarh and urged the Delimitation Commission to convert the same into general constituency.
In a statement issued to media persons, Tony has asked the Delimitation Commission to de-reserve the Suchetgarh constituency and also rationalize the Jammu South Seat as the same has become the largest constituency after R S Pura has been merged into the same.
The DDC member said that starting from Chowadi, the Constituency sweeps the area up to R S Pura by covering over 1.69 lakh votes. He said that the Delimitation Commission should rationalize this constituency by adding the areas falling on the North of National Highway to Bahu Constituency upto Satwari as this can ensure justice to all.
He said such a huge chunk of population in a single constituency is sheer injustice therefore the aforesaid commission should consider the demand on priority and rationalize the constituencies by even distribution of population between Bahu and Jammu South Constituencies.
