KATHUA, Feb 10: In order to review the achievements made under various programmes like Annual Plan, Public Awareness Camps, Training Programme, Skill Development Programme, Capacity Building Programme, the District Development Commissioner Kathua, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary convened a meeting of district and sectoral officers here today.
He held detailed review of the progress made under different schemes and programmes. He also reviewed progress in organizing awareness camps by various departments to educate people regarding schemes, besides initiatives taken for improving skill development and capacity building of the beneficiaries under various flagship schemes and programmes.
The DDC took review of the existing schemes under Agriculture, Handicrafts, Handloom, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Rural Development, Social Welfare Department, Horticulture, NYK, SC/ST/ OBC Development Corporation sectors and stressed upon the officers to organise the training in the rural and border areas for motivating the people to take the benefits of various schemes and programme.
He said a comprehensive plan would be devised involving different departments for skill development under various schemes to create employment avenues. He said efforts would be made to capacitate unemployed through skill development programme in integrated manner so that different trainings and skill improvements can be viable at one place.
Among others ADDC Kathua Narinder Singh Bali, Chief Planning Officer, ACD, PO ICDS, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, Deputy Director Employment, District Panchayat Officer, District Coordinator NYK, Warden G&B Hostel, Superintendent ITI, AD Handicrafts, AD Handloom, officers from Army and CDPO’s of Kathua district were present in the meeting.
