DDC reviews implementation of RGGVY scheme in Rajouri

Rajouri, Sept 21: District Development Commissioner, Rajouri, Saugat Biswas, reviewed implementation of the RGGVY scheme in the district.
The meeting was attended by Superintending Engineer EM&RE, Superintending Engineer RGGVY, Executive Engineer RGGVY, Executive Engineer, EM&RE and contractor executing the project M/s Pir Panchal Pvt. Ltd.
The scheme was sanctioned for electrification of 687 un-electrified habitations in the District including six un-electrified villages. Keeping in view the sluggish implementation of the scheme, the DDC had set fortnightly targets for the JKSPDC & PDD in the last meeting held in July, 2012, with the aim of completing execution of works under the scheme by the end of December this year.
The DDC informed that the JKSPDC has been able to speed up the work in the last few months, and installed complete infrastructure in 356 habitations and partially in 60. The Power Development Department has energized and operationlized sub-stations in 81 habitations so far. He informed that the jump in progress has been satisfactory.
Biswas directed the officers of JKSPDC and PDD to gear up the implementation of the scheme to achieve 100% targets by the end of December 2012. He directed all the concerned wings to expedite joint inspections in all the sub-stations in a well coordinated and professional manner according to the timeline already generated. He further said that any failure to comply with the timeline will be dealt with strictly.
While the DDC asked the Superintending Engineer, EM&RE to get all sub-stations charged as per the timeline, he also asked the SE, RGGVY to devise mechanism for repair and maintainance of faults in new sub-stations in a seamless manner, to avoid inconvenience to the public.
