REASI, Apr 1: District Development Commissioner Reasi Kumar Abhishek today conducted a Public Grievances Redressal Camp at Sub-Division Mahore to address the concerns and issues of the local populace.

A large number of residents from Mahore and adjoining areas participated in the camp and projected their grievances. They demanded up-gradation of basic amenities such as road connectivity, water supply, electricity, education and other public services.

Key demands included the development of a bus stand, acceleration of ongoing road projects, promotion of tourism to boost local livelihood, strengthening of road safety measures and expeditious disposal of pending cases under SRO-43 and other essential services.

The DDC listened patiently to the grievances and assured prompt redressal. He assured timely completion of the ongoing works and redressal of key issues before the onset of the monsoon season.

Later, the DDC chaired a review meeting to assess the progress of ongoing development works in the sub-division. The Sub Divisional Magistrate informed that public grievances registered on the online portals such as JK Samadhan have been resolved with no pendency. He further informed that revenue records have been fully digitized. He also informed the chair about the status of disbursement of compensation to landslide-affected families.

The DDC directed officers to identify vulnerable areas and take appropriate preventive measures. He also reviewed progress of road projects and directed the concerned departments to propose new works for the financial year 2026–27.

Reviewing the progress of smart meter installation, the DDC directed the JPDCL  to cover all government buildings. The Health Department was asked to identify suitable land for establishment of health centres and ensure proper functioning of healthcare facilities.

The DDC also reviewed the performance of Social Welfare, Horticulture, Jal Shakti, JPDCL and Education departments and emphasized the need for improved service delivery and effective implementation of government schemes.

Among others, ADDC Sukhdev Singh Samyal, ADC Rakesh Kumar, CPO Narinder Kumar, PO POSHAN, Chief Education Officer, Executive Engineers of PMGSY, PWD and JPDCL along with other district and sectoral officers, were present.
