REASI, AUGUST 14: District Development Commissioner Reasi Nidhi Malik today chaired a meeting to review implementation of financial inclusion and social security schemes in the district.
Schemes reviewed included Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, RuPay Debit Card distribution, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Scheme, Marriage Assistance Scheme and Smart Kisan Credit Card (KCC).
The DDC directed the Lead District Manager and Cluster Head to expedite issuance of RuPay Debit Cards and Smart KCC Cards and to hold joint awareness camps with agro and allied departments to ensure saturation of the Smart KCC scheme.
On the JKBOCWWB Welfare Scheme, the DDC instructed the Assistant Labour Commissioner to bridge the gap between registered and active workers and to coordinate with BDOs and JEs for more registrations. She also called on the District Social Welfare Officer to intensify outreach for the Marriage Assistance Scheme.
She urged all departments to coordinate efforts to improve coverage and effectiveness of these schemes. The meeting was attended by CPO Reasi Narinder Kumar, the LDM, representatives of J&K Bank, DSWO, ALC and other officers.
