Kupwara, Feb 3: The District Development Commissioner Kupwara Khalid Jahangir today convened a joint meeting of officers and engineers of Rural Development Department and Panchayat Raj Institutions to review the physical and financial status of on-going development scenario in the district.
The Assistant Commissioner Development Kupwara Yaar Ali Khan and Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, District Panchayat Officer briefed the chair about the progress achieved under different schemes run by the departments up to January 2018 through detailed power point presentation, which include generation of man days of works, Aadhaar seeding, FTO status, MGNREGA, SBM, PMAY, convergence plan implementation, community bunkers and other issues, problems and liabilities.
The District Development Commissioner Kupwara was informed that 1441 houses were completed under PMAY, 68.19% Aadhaar seeding has been completed besides 26 big play fields are under construction through Rural Development Department and shall be completed during fiscal year, 50 fencing works of far flung schools are under execution under the sector. It was further informed that 15 play fields in the district are nearing to completion for commission to resume the sports activities in the district. The works on execution of helipads are in progress at different places in the district as per the guidelines of the authorities.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC impressed upon the executing and implementing agencies of the sector to expedite the developmental scenario within the current month by utilizing additional men & machinery and adopting the double shift method so that quality work be ensured and people may avail the facilities at their door steps as guarantied within the scheme of RDD/PRIs. The chair exhorted upon the engineers and officers associated with the implementation of schemes to ensure the implementation of CMs commitments and other instructions given to them.
Referring to the progress achieved by the respective BDOs, the DDC is himself visiting the areas identified by the concerned for inspection of works carried under the sector. For this purpose, he directed the concerned agencies to submit the list of completed works. He also impressed upon the concerned implementing and executing agencies to complete all on-going works within the deadline fixed during the meeting and all payments and departmental issues be cleared within next 15 days.
The Executive Engineer, REW Kupwara besides concerned BDOs, District Information Officer, engineers and field functionaries were present in the meeting.
