DDC Kupwara chairs Block Diwas at Tarathpora

KUPWARA, Dec 27: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Shrikant Suse today visited Tarathpora block of district Kupwara and chaired Block Diwas to hear and redress the grievances of the citizens, besides, inspecting different Health, Educational Institutions and Developmental works.

On arrival, the DDC chaired a Grievance Redressal camp at block headquarter Tarathpora. ADC Handwara, Javed Naseem Masoodi, CPO, BDO, Tehsildar, Officers from line departments, and large number of people attended the public darbar.

Addressing the public darbar, the District Development Commissioner said that the Government is committed for upliftment and welfare of the people, especially those living in the far flung areas. He enjoined upon the officers of line departments to work with concerted efforts and enthusiasm to project the developmental issues of the general public for timely redressal.

He urged upon the people to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the surroundings and support the RDD in ensuring success of SBM.

The DDC took review of all the departments including PDD, Jal Shakti, R&B, Health and Education and assessed their performance in Tarathpora block. He impressed upon the concerned officers to gear up their men and machinery to tackle any challenges in the ensuing winter season, especially snow clearance and uninterrupted power and water supply.

He directed the officers not to leave their headquarters without proper permission so that people do not face any inconvenience in getting essential services in this winter.

Meanwhile, the DDC inaugurated a CSC Touch Point in the Block Headquarter premises to ensure availability of digital services at doorstep of the people.

Later, the DDC took a tour of block Tarathpora during which he took inspection of various health and educational institutions, besides inspecting developmental works.

The DDC inspected Health & Wellness Centre Tarathpora and interacted with the Health staff and patients and got feedback about the facilities available in the Health Centre. On the demand of locals, the DDC directed the BMO for submitting a plan for procurement and installation of required medical equipments in the hospital.
