RAJOURI, July 18: Senior BJP leader and District Development Council (DDC) Member Abdul Qayoom Mir conducted surprise visit to PHC Thannamandi and strongly demanded that it should be upgraded to Sub District Hospital (SDH) level.
DDC member said that PHC Thannamandi is the only hospital on Mughal Road and in case any tragedy happens, people have to suffer a lot. He mentioned that Digital X – Ray Machine is not working for the last one year as the same was bought new but lying defunct.
Mir demanded that a Trauma hospital must be sanctioned at Thannamandi in view of its location and urgency in case of fatal accidents taking place along Mughal Road. He further said that there was shortage of staff in the PHC and for some simple test people have to go to Rajouri, which is great injustice with the people of Thannamandi area.
He said CMO Rajouri and Director Health Service Jammu must have to take serious note of it and must place adequate staff in this hospital. He demanded that there is no Gynaecologist in the Hospital due to which patients have to suffer a lot. This hospital cater to the needs of large no of people and there is famous shrine of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah but no proper health facilities are provided by the Health department, he maintained.
Qayoom Mir further demanded that an Ambulance must be provided to this hospital for emergency services.
Tehsildar Thannamandi, Sahil Ali Shah who was also present there directed staff members to maintain proper cleanliness in the hospital. He also directed staff members to make roaster for duty and all the employees have to perform duty as per roaster. He assured DDC member that all his concern will be conveyed to the higher authorities.
Those who were present along with DDC member include Sarpanchs, Civil Society members, Arshad Nawaz Khan Trade Association president, general secretary Majid Mir, Javaid Khan, Qazi Qammar and others.
