BASOHLI, May 2: To review the facilities at Government Model Higher Secondary School (GMHSS), Basohli, Col Mahan Singh (Retd), Chairman District Development Council (DDC) Kathua, today paid a visit here today.
Upon his arrival, the DDC Chairman received a warm and enthusiastic welcome from the school staff, students and faculty.
Following a brief interaction with the Principal, Brij Bhushan Sharma, the DDC toured the school complex to review its infrastructure and academic facilities.
He inspected classrooms, the Science Laboratories, ICT Lab, School Library, Assembly Hall and the sports infrastructure, gaining firsthand insight into the institution’s academic environment and resources.
The DDC lauded the efforts of both students and teachers for their commendable performance in academics, sports and various skill development programmes.
He appreciated the dedication and proactive attitude of the staff and students in striving toward excellence, despite certain infrastructural challenges.
Earlier, Brij Bhushan Sharma presented several concerns and requirements of the school to the visiting Chairman.
He highlighted the issues of non-availability of an examination or multipurpose hall, the need to raise the boundary wall to prevent trespassing, urgent renovation of Physics and Chemistry laboratories and the necessity of a standby power supply to ensure uninterrupted academic activities.
The DDC listened to the concerns with keen interest and assured the school administration of all possible support.
