DDC Chairman, DC Kathua conduct joint inspection of developmental works in Basohli

BASOHLI, Aug 16: In a significant move to address developmental challenges and public concerns, Col Mahan Singh (Retd), DDC Chairman Kathua, along with Rajesh Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Kathua, conducted an extensive on-site inspection of key developmental projects and public issues in the Basohli region on Saturday.
The inspection team included senior district and sectoral officers such as ADC Basohli Pankaj Bagotra, ADC Kathua Bishwajit Singh, CPO Ranjeet Thakur, CEO Bani-Basohli Development Authority Babu Sharna, SDPO Suresh Sharna, as well as local MLA Darshan Kumar, public representatives Sumesh Spolia, Yubkaran Singh, and others.
While addressing the media, DDC Chairman Col Mahan Singh lauded the proactive approach of the Deputy Commissioner in visiting the remote areas of Basohli to get firsthand knowledge of public grievances.
He highlighted the extensive damage caused to roads, infrastructure, and public property due to the recent heavy rains during the monsoon season.
He urged the concerned departments to prioritize restoration works and requested the DC to release adequate funds to ensure early repair of road communication and services, especially with the upcoming festive season approaching.
DC Kathua Rajesh Sharma appreciated the scenic beauty and immense tourism potential of the Basohli region. He reiterated the administration’s commitment to continuing the momentum of development in the area.
During the visit, he interacted with locals and public representatives, listened to their concerns, and directed the concerned officers to take prompt action for resolution.
