JAMMU, Apr 3: District Congress Committee Jammu Urban under the leadership of Th Manmohan Singh conducted its monthly meeting at party headquarters Shaheedi Chowk, Jammu to discuss party issues.
The meeting was presided over by Raman Bhalla, working president JKPCC and attended by senior Congress leaders Yogesh Sawhney, Ved Mahajan, Rajnish Sharma, Satish Sharma, Vijay Shastri, Ricky Dalotra, District office bearers, Block presidents, Ward presidents and other prominent workers of the party. During the meeting District Congress leaders discussed public related issues as well as the strategy to fight for restoration of statehood.
Speaking on the occasion, Raman Bhalla said that Cental Government promised time to time to restore statehood without delay especially after Assembly elections but now, the Centre has no interaction to fulfill the promise. He said that the people will have to fight for their rights and getting back their status, dignity as a full-fleged State. He asked Block and Ward Committees to gain support of the people for achieving the goal of early restoration of Statehood.
Yogesh Sawhney and Ved Mahajan suggested various strategies and programs to strengthen the Congress Party’s groundwork in Jammu District. They urged the party functionaries at all levels to continue taking steps in the direction to strengthen the party at the grass root level. They said that the genuine needs of the public should be addressed openly.
Manmohan Singh while concluding the meeting laid stress upon the participants to broadcast the policies and programmes of the Congress Party and coordinate the efforts in strengthening the party cadre in every nook and corner of the Jammu city.
Meanwhile, several youths of Jammu East joined the Congress Party in the presence of PCC working president Raman Bhalla and other leaders.
Prominent among other present on the occasion included Sonu Dogra, Pawan Dev Singh, Sat Pal Sapolia, Som Raj, HS Bagi, Ajay Kumar, Sanjeev Katal, Chander Shekhar, Latish Sharma, Darshan Verma, Praveen Singh, Saohit Sharma, Amit Gupta and Reshu Kumar.
