UDHAMPUR, Sept 10: To review the ongoing relief, rescue, rehabilitation, damage assessment and disbursement of ex-gratia to rain affected people, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Saloni Rai today convened a meeting of officers from line departments here in the Conference Hall, DC Office Complex, Udhampur.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Rajinder Singh; Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh; Registrar Dr. Gurvinder Jeet Singh; PO Poshan Subash Dogra; Additional SP Sandeep Bhat, Assistant Commissioner Development Om Parkash, besides other officers of line departments.
The DC took a detailed Sub-Division-wise review of damages to private as well as government property categorized as fully, partially and severely affected and directed the officers to submit reports on a daily basis. She emphasized expediting the preparation of damage assessment files and instructed the concerned departments to prioritize the assessment of losses to private property.
The DC also sought comprehensive feedback from the concerned officers on the extent of damages, rescue operations, relief distribution, rehabilitation measures, restoration of essential services and losses to infrastructure.
She stressed the timely submission of detailed reports to ensure that necessary relief and restoration measures are initiated without delay. The DC directed all departments to work in close coordination to ensure prompt restoration of essential services in the affected areas.
The DC instructed officers to mobilize men and machinery at full scale for the early restoration of drinking water supply, power supply, road connectivity and other essential services, thereby minimizing the hardships faced by the affected population.
