DC seeks final assessment report of flood losses by Sept 10

LEH, Sept 7: Deputy Commissioner, CEO, LAHDC, Parsana Ramaswamy held a meeting with Revenue Officers to ensure earliest disbursement of relief funds among the flood affected families of Leh district. The meeting was also attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Sunil Kumar.
Taking latest flood assessment reports from all the SDMs and Tehsilders, Parsana Ramaswamy directed all the concerned revenue offices to submit their final assessment report by September 10 to DC Office Leh so that relief money admissible to the affected families in terms of human loss, livestock loss, standing crop loss and fully damaged and partially damaged residential houses could be distributed at the earliest.
He also directed all SDMs and Tehsilders to ensure utmost transparency while distributing relief to the affected families and also submit the utilization certificates of the same to the DC Office.
Talking about the need of a comprehensive disaster management plan for Leh district, DC enjoined upon the officers to identify vulnerable points and areas in their respective jurisdictions and also instructed them to explore possible stocking facilities in their respective areas where essential materials could be stocked which will be used during disaster.
Ramaswamy also stressed upon all the revenue officers to use their powers proficiently to keep the remaining State land under their control and directed them to use their powers to stop illegal encroachment of State land by any individual, organization or agency and bring all the land related issues in his knowledge.
