DC reviews relief measures, disbursement of ex-gratia among rain-affected families

UDHAMPUR, Sept 22: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Saloni Rai today convened a meeting to review relief measures, assessment of damages and disbursement of ex-gratia assistance to people affected by recent heavy rains, landslides and flash floods in the district.

The DC took a detailed Sub-Division-wise review of damages caused to the private and government property, categorized as fully, partially and severely affected.

She directed the concerned officers to ensure timely disbursement of relief to the affected families and emphasized the need for close inter-departmental coordination for efficient relief and restoration work.

SDMs were instructed to keep assessment teams active on the ground, expedite the verification of damages to property and crops and submit proposals without delay.

The DC further directed officers to conduct proper assessment of damages to public property to ensure that timely relief is extended under SDRF norms.

She stressed the importance of swift restoration of public infrastructure and directed all departments to work in synergy for effective response and rehabilitation of affected families.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Rajinder Singh; Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh; Chief Planning Officer Uttam Singh; Assistant Commissioner Revenue Dr. Umesh Shan, besides officers from line departments.
