DC reviews Maha Shivratri arrangements

SRINAGAR, Feb 13: Mobile Centres for sale of fish would be setup at Indira Nagar, Jawahar Nagar, Shivpora and Habba Kadal areas of Srinagar City on the eve of Maha Shivratri festival.
This was stated at an officers meeting held here under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr. Farooq Ahmed Lone to review arrangements for Maha Shivratrai festival being observed on February 17.
Senior officers of PHE, Fisheries, Horticulture, Power Development Departments besides Srinagar Municipal Corporation attended the meeting.
The Assistant Director Fisheries informed the meeting that adequate quantity of fish will be kept available at all the retail outlets on February 15 and February 16. Besides, Horticulture Department will also keep walnut available for sale as per past practice.
The Health Department will make medicare arrangements at Shankarachariya Temple and other Asthapans while Power Development Department will ensure uninterrupted power supply during the festivities.
The Deputy Commissioner directed officers to make all required arrangements like water supply, electricity, availability of fish, walnut and sanitation well in advance so the Pandit Community do not face any difficulty on this account.
