DC reviews damage assessment process post heavy rains

RAJOURI, Sept 22: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma today convened a meeting with concerned officers to review the assessment of damage to public infrastructure and private property in the district due to the recent spell of flash floods and landslides triggered by heavy rains.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the departments including PWD, PMGSY and Education to prepare and submit a comprehensive list of works requiring urgent restoration. He stressed that critical infrastructure must be identified and prioritized to minimize disruption of essential public services.

While reviewing the status of educational institutions, he instructed the Additional Deputy Commissioners (ADCs) to prepare a priority list of partially safe schools so that restoration and safety measures could be initiated without delay.

The DC also issued necessary directions for the timely restoration of health facilities.

With regard to the Jal Shakti Department, Sharma underlined the need to focus on repairing damaged water supply lines to ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply in the affected areas.

Emphasizing the importance of a coordinated and time-bound response, he called upon all departments to work in close synergy for swift restoration of essential services, thereby reducing hardships faced by the public.
