DC Ramban reviews progress of digitization, land record reforms

RAMBAN, Jan 3: Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan today chaired a review meeting to assess the progress of digitization and freezing of Jamabandi, updation of cadastral maps as the base layer on PM Gati Shakti, conduct of Digital Camp Surveys and implementation of the Maker-Checker-Approval protocol across the district.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Singh Charak and other concerned officers, while Sub-Divisional Magistrates and Tehsildars participated.
The Deputy Commissioner conducted a tehsil-wise review, assessed achievements, identified gaps and issued necessary directions to concerned officers to expedite the process.
He directed the Revenue Department to complete the digitization process for small, medium and large villages strictly within the prescribed timelines. Emphasising the importance of accuracy, transparency and accountability, he instructed the Tehsildars to personally supervise the Maker-Checker-Approval mechanism and closely monitor daily progress at the field level.
Briefing the officers regarding the significance of these initiatives, the DC said that digitized and updated land records are critical for transparent land administration, dispute-free records and effective developmental planning. “Accurate cadastral mapping integrated with PM Gati Shakti will strengthen infrastructure planning and decision-making,” he stressed.
He called for coordinated and concerted efforts from all concerned officers to achieve time-bound and error-free implementation, ensuring that the benefits of digital land reforms reach the public in an efficient and reliable manner.
