RAMBAN, Jan 21: To facilitate timely redressal of public grievances, Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan today convened a public grievance redressal camp at village Halla in Dhandrath area.
The Deputy Commissioner, along with officers and participants recited the National Song “Vande Mataram” to mark the celebrations of the 150th Anniversary of India’s National Song, adding a patriotic fervour to the proceedings.
The camp witnessed active participation from public representatives, including the DDC Member and district officers, including ACD, Tehsildar, CMO, Executive Engineers from PWD, PMGSY, JPDCL and Jal Shakti, ALC, CAHO, CAO, CHO, DSWO, BDO besides officers from other departments.
Responding to demands raised by the locals, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Executive Engineer JPDCL to provide the requisite number of electric poles, ensure their installation to strengthen power infrastructure, rectify electricity bills and issue future bills strictly as per meter readings.
The Executive Engineer Flood Control was directed to take up protection works in nallahs to safeguard houses located in vulnerable areas, while the Executive Engineer Jal Shakti was instructed to expedite and complete ongoing water supply projects under JJM and other schemes.
To improve road safety and connectivity, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Executive Engineer PMGSY to frame a plan for the construction of crash barriers at critical locations along the Halla road. He also asked him to explore the feasibility of constructing a road to Sarvadhar to facilitate the people and promote tourism and religious significance of the area, adding that permanent maintenance of roads will commence shortly.
The Chief Medical Officer was directed to ensure regular visits of doctors along with paramedical staff and availability of medicines in the area as per schedule.
Further, the Tehsildar Ramban was directed to identify suitable state land for the construction of a bus stand. The Deputy Commissioner assured that other demands, including provision of an ambulance, solar street lights, development of a playground and drainage facilities will be addressed in a time-bound manner.
The Deputy Commissioner inspected stalls set up by various departments, providing on-the-spot services and information about government schemes. He urged the public to avail maximum benefits from welfare and developmental schemes. Officers from different departments sensitised the people about ongoing initiatives and provided necessary guidance and handholding to eligible beneficiaries.
Earlier, locals highlighted several issues of public importance. The Deputy Commissioner assured that the remaining grievances would be resolved in a time-bound and transparent manner.
En-route, the Deputy Commissioner also interacted with various deputations and individuals and resolved their issues on the spot by issuing directions to the concerned officers.
