DC Poonch takes stock of problems of 3 blocks; inspects offices

POONCH, Mar 31: Deputy Commissioner, Poonch lnder Jeet today held interaction with Block Development Council Chairpersons, Sarpanches, Panches, social activists and others of three blocks of Mandi, Loran and Sathra.
The Sarpanches and Panches apprised the Deputy Commissioner about various issues pertaining to their areas and panchayats. They demanded upgrading of roads infrastructure , inclusion of left out beneficiaries under PMAY scheme and old age pension scheme, upgradation and repair of water pipe lines, increase in quantity of kerosene oil, better power and health facilities, posting of adequate teaching staff in newly upgraded Higher Secondary School Arai and also improvement in staff positions in J&K Bank Mandi.
The Block Development Chairpersons Shamim Ahmed Ghanai and Frida Chowdhury also highlighted the issues of development in detail concerning with their blocks.
The Deputy Commissioner redressed many grievances on the spot and passed a slew of directions to the concerned officers to ensure speedy implementation of golden cards under Sehat Scheme, 100% Aadhar seeding of ration cards, inclusion of beneficiaries of various central and state sponsored schemes, formulation of timely plans for execution of standard quality of the works.
The PHE Department was directed to plug all loopholes so as to ensure adequate drinking water facilities in view of holy month of Ramadan. The Revenue and Police Department were directed to streamline the traffic congestion and illegal mining. The PWD and PMGSY Departments were asked to take on-the spot details of issues related to better road connectivity.
Later, DDC met with large numbers of delegations to address their problems and paid surprise visit at Sub District Hospital Mandi and main branch of Jammu and Kashmir Bank Mandi to get first hand appraisal of its functioning.
