POONCH, Mar 12: The Deputy Commissioner of Poonch, Vikas Kundal, today visited two newly constructed homes in Poonch, participating in the Greha Pravesh ceremony for beneficiaries Naseem Akhter and Abdul Qayoom, both residents of Ward No. 1, Poonch.
The visit highlighted the successful implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY)-Urban scheme, which aims to provide housing for all.
During his visit, the Deputy Commissioner commended the homeowners for effectively utilizing Government support and expressed satisfaction with the scheme’s grassroots impact. He underscored the administration’s commitment to accelerating the completion of pending houses to meet the objectives of the PMAY-Urban initiative.
Following the visit, Deputy Commissioner convened a review meeting with officials from the Municipal Council of Poonch and Surankote, where he scrutinized the overall progress of the PMAY-Urban scheme. He emphasized the urgency of completing outstanding housing projects and urged municipalities to expedite construction while maintaining quality standards.
He also instructed officials to address any issues faced by beneficiaries, including delays in fund disbursement and documentation concerns.
The meeting was attended by ACD, Shafiq Mir, CEO Municipality, Yaqoob Choudhary, Account Officer Municipality and others concerned.
