LEH, Nov 4 : To review and assess the status of telecom connectivity in Leh district, Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Romil Singh Donk, chaired a meeting here today.
During the meeting, the DC Leh sought detailed information from the telecom service providers on why the network has not been fully set up, the challenges they are facing and locations where towers have been installed.
He also inquired about the number of proposals submitted by each telecom operator to enhance connectivity across the district.
DC Leh instructed all officers to submit a detailed village-wise report specifying areas with network issues, the service providers available and the current stage of work completion.
Romil Singh further stated that he would connect with the SDMs after receiving the reports to discuss the connectivity gaps and coordinate necessary actions.
He also informed that the next review meeting on telecom connectivity will be conducted within the next 5-6 days to evaluate the progress made.
Among others who the meeting included ADC, Ghulam Mohd, Additional DDC, Sonam Nurboo, Chief Planning Officer, Tsewang Gyalson, Assistance Commissioner Revenue, Shabir Hussain, General Manager BSNL, Manager Airtel and Manager Jio.
