KULGAM, JULY 19: To ensure the saturation of government welfare schemes and financial inclusion of social security schemes at the grassroots level, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan, today chaired a comprehensive review meeting at the DC Office, here.

During the review, DC was apprised about implementation status and saturation levels of various welfare schemes, with a particular emphasis on financial inclusion schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), and Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY).

DC instructed all bank heads to work in close coordination with the Rural Development department (RDD), and Social Welfare department to ensure comprehensive coverage of all eligible beneficiaries and achieve the targets well in time.

Khan emphasized that special attention is to be given to enhancing enrollment in schemes like PMJJBY, PMSBY, and other insurance and pension-based initiatives under the Jan Dhan umbrella.

This review meeting aimed to ensure the effective implementation of the flagship program, which provides economic security to farmers by insuring their crops against natural calamities and crop damage.

The meeting was attended by Jt. Director Planning, Malik Suheel; Lead Bank Manager, all the District Officers of Agriculture and allied sectors,  heads of all leading banks operating in the district and Ex. Engineers of  different wings.
