Kishtwar, Sept 22: Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar Saugat Biswas, today chaired a meeting of prominent citizens.
Various issues pertaining to development, availability of essential commodities, upliftment of several sectors and challenges in education and heathcare and law and order were discussed in the meeting.
The meeting deliberated upon the various aspects related to the basic facilities and essential commodities available in the town as well as the district. Besides growing challenges of increasing crime and other social evils in the society were also discussed threadbare.
Besides, many issues like dearth of essential commodities especially kerosene oil and other public requirements were also discussed in the meeting and the public was informed that all the genuine grievances/demands will be looked into irrespective of any sectoral or political bias.
On the occasion, Biswas highlighted the importance of these interactive sessions in bridging the gap between the society and the Administration. Moreover, he also termed them beneficial for the betterment of the society and curbing the evils from the society. He sought people’s cooperation for eradication of social evils from the society and assured all possible support from the district administration for making Kishtwar district free from social evils and crime.
As far the other demands in sectors like Health, Agricultural, Horticultural, CAPD, poor mobile connectivity, dilapidated road connectivity are concerned, he assured that positive changes will be seen shortly. Acute shortage of drinking water in the town will be redressed by pacifying the work on Naigad water supply scheme on priority. Replying to the complaints, DC Kishtwar assured that he will himself visit the filter plants and will take steps for providing clean drinking water to the citizens.
Regarding law and order situation, the District Magistrate in a separate meeting with Superintendent of Police Yougal Manhas, Additional Superintendent of Police , ADDC Kishtwar, ADC Kishtwar, ACR Kishtwar, Tehsildars and other duty magistrates instructed them to follow the standard drills during the festival of holy Eid.
District Superintendent of police Yougal Manhas assured that fool proof deployment of paramilitary forces as well as district police will be put into force, for that a special rehearsal will be exercised in time with all duty magistrates.
