KATHUA, Jan 12: Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rajesh Sharma today chaired a meeting to review the progress of key infrastructure projects being executed under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) in the district.
The meeting focused on assessing the physical and financial progress of the projects taken up to strengthen healthcare, improve rural connectivity and create essential support facilities.
The projects reviewed included the up-gradation of Community Health Centre (CHC) Billawar from the existing 60-bedded capacity to a 100-bedded facility, construction of residential quarters for Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) members and the 70-metre RCC bridge on the Bhoond-Jaanu road link, a vital connectivity project for the area.
The DC took a detailed review of the pace of progress of each project. He underscored the importance of completing all works strictly as per approved specifications, timelines and technical norms. He emphasised that the projects sanctioned under SASCI are required to be completed by March 31, 2026, as per the approved timeline. He called for maintaining the pace of execution to ensure timely delivery of public assets.
The DC directed the officers to address any implementation-related issues promptly to avoid delays and ensure optimal utilisation of funds.
ADC Vishavjeet Singh; CPO Ranjeet Thakur; Executive Engineer, Hospital and Mechanical Division Kathua, along with AEEs of PWD Kathua Division attended the meeting. Executive Engineers PWD Basohli and Billawar joined the meeting virtually and briefed the chair on the status and progress of the respective projects.
