JAMMU, Dec 19: Deputy Commissioner Jammu Dr Rakesh Minhas today chaired a meeting to review the physical and financial progress of works taken up under the District Capex Budget 2025-26.
The DC conducted a block-wise review of works being executed by various departments, including the Rural Development Department. Detailed presentations were made on the status of ongoing projects, highlighting achievements as well as issues affecting progress.
Dr Minhas addressed certain bottlenecks raised by the departments and issued necessary directions for their resolution to ensure expeditious execution of works. He also emphasised the need for regular monitoring and called for periodic reviews of project progress to maintain momentum.
Departments such as Jal Shakti, Health and Medical Education, Education, JPDCL among others presented updates on their respective Capex works. The DC stressed that all departments and officers must adhere to fixed timelines and ensure measurable progress, which will be reviewed from time to time.
A broad discussion was also held on further improving public infrastructure across the district to enhance service delivery and quality of life for citizens.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Sher Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Vidhu Shekhar, Chief Planning Officer Ajay Pal Singh, Assistant Commissioner Development Danish Rasool, besides Block Development Officers and other district officers.
