DODA, Aug 8: Deputy Commissioner Doda Harvinder Singh chaired a meeting of the District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) under Mission YUVA. The meeting was part of a continued push to promote grassroots entrepreneurship and youth-led economic transformation in the district.
During the session, 246 new self-employment cases were thoroughly reviewed and approved, bringing the cumulative total of sanctioned cases under the mission to 644. This remarkable milestone reflects the district’s growing momentum in empowering local youth through sustainable livelihood avenues.
Addressing the committee members, the Deputy Commissioner emphasised that Mission YUVA is not just an employment scheme but a dynamic platform to nurture entrepreneurship, innovation and self-reliance among the youth. He reaffirmed the district administration’s commitment to providing consistent capacity building, mentorship and handholding support, along with structured monitoring to ensure the viability and long-term success of the sanctioned units.
Rafiq Ahmad Jaral, Deputy Director Employment, Doda, shared that the youth of Doda have embraced Mission YUVA with remarkable enthusiasm and optimism. “In a region traditionally dependent on agriculture and service sector jobs, this initiative is opening new and diverse livelihood frontiers for our aspiring entrepreneurs,” he stated.
