DC constitutes 4 member team to probe overcharging by wine shops

RAMBAN, May 20: After getting large number of complaints regarding overcharging by wine shop owners from consumers within the territorial jurisdiction of Ramban District, Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam today ordered that a team headed by Additional District Magistrate, Ramban shall inquire into these complaints and ensure action against violators under extant rules.
The team has four members as Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Ramban; Tehsildars (Executive Magistrates 1st Class) of Batote, Ramban, Pogal Paristan (HQ Ukhral) and Rajgarh; SHOs of Batote, Chanderkote, Ramban and Ramsoo and Excise Inspector, Ramban.
In his order DC Ramban, Mussarat Islam also stated that it has also been learnt that wine shop owners have been refusing acceptance of digital payments and are also not issuing invoice of payments made and it has been found that majority of the wine shop owners have neither installed CCTV cameras nor prominently displayed rate lists at their business outlets and the office of DC Ramban has taken a serious view of the complaints received from consumers.
The order also stated that Additional District Magistrate, Ramban shall submit monthly reports in the office of DC Ramban after collating information from the concerned Tehsildars and SHOs.
