DC conducts field visit in Block Sumb, reviews key development works

SAMBA, APRIL 7: Deputy Commissioner Samba Ayushi Sudan on Tuesday undertook an extensive tour of Block Sumb to review ongoing developmental works and assess critical infrastructure in the region. She was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ACR) Ajay Bharti; Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Rafiq Jaral; Executive Engineers, Tehsildar Samba and Block Development Officer (BDO) Sumb.

The visit focused particularly on road connectivity, rural development initiatives and flood control measures. During the tour, the Deputy Commissioner conducted a comprehensive inspection of works being executed under the Rural Development Department (RDD), Public Works Department (PWD) and Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).

Key projects, including road connectivity upgrades, bridges, community infrastructure and restoration works were reviewed on-site to evaluate progress, quality and adherence to timelines. Special emphasis was laid on improving connectivity in remote and rural pockets with directions issued to concerned departments to expedite pending works and ensure timely completion without compromising quality standards.

The Deputy Commissioner also assessed flood control measures in vulnerable areas, stressing the importance of preparedness and proactive mitigation to safeguard lives and property.

Later, a meeting was held at Goran Baba shrine with members of the Goran Baba Committee. Different issues concerning local development, infrastructure gaps and community requirements were discussed in detail. The Deputy Commissioner assured prompt redressal of genuine concerns and emphasized coordinated efforts between the administration and local stakeholders for holistic development.

Reaffirming the administration’s commitment to grassroots development, the Deputy Commissioner reiterated that regular field visits and on-ground monitoring will continue to ensure effective implementation of government schemes and to address public grievances in a timely manner.
