DC Budgam chairs DLSCC meeting, reviews SRO-43 cases

BUDGAM, JULY 30: To support families affected by militancy-related incidents, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat, today chaired the District Level Screening-cum-Coordination Committee (DLSCC) meeting to review and dispose-off cases under SRO-43 provisions.

During the session, the Committee took up 41 cases related to compassionate appointments for the Next of Kin (NOKs) of civilians and security personnel who lost their lives in militancy-related incidents.

After detailed verification and discussions, several eligible cases were cleared under the provisions of SRO-43.

Speaking on the occasion, DC reiterated that these cases represent the sacrifice endured by families across the district, and as such, demand a humane, sensitive, and responsive approach from the administration.

He stressed that compassionate appointments under SRO-43 reflect the government’s solidarity with affected families.

DC issued firm instructions to all line departments to strictly adhere to defined timelines, ensuring there are no avoidable procedural bottlenecks.

He called for greater synergy between civil and security agencies, particularly in the verification and documentation process, to avoid delays in clearing genuine cases.

He further directed officers to hold regular internal reviews of pending cases, so that no eligible family is kept waiting.

The meeting was attended by ADC Budgam, ASP Budgam, ACR Budgam, all SDMs, Commanding Officer 53 RR, all Tehsildars, and representatives from CID and other security agencies.
