DC asks stakeholders to contribute in promotion of tourism in Kishtwar

KISHTWAR, Mar 28: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav today emphasized the commitment of stakeholders to utilize their newfound knowledge and experiences to contribute to the tourism sector’s growth in Kishtwar region.
While addressing an interactive meeting of tourism enthusiasts, hoteliers, adventure tourism operators, and college students of District Kishtwar for the successful culmination of their week-long exposure tour to Kashmir, Dr Yadav reiterated the importance of implementing the acquired experiences and encouraged the participants to harness the tourism potential of the area, thereby catalyzing the region’s tourism sector.
The tour, organized through collaborative efforts by the district administration Kishtwar and the District Employment & Counselling Cell Kishtwar under the AVSAR Scheme, marked a significant milestone in promoting tourism and skill development in the region.
A contingent of 12 budding tourism entrepreneurs from the district embarked on this unique journey, exploring various tourism-related activities and acquiring valuable skills in Kashmir.
The tour included visits to renowned destinations such as Gulmarg, Dachhigam National Park, Sonamarg, and Pahalgam, under the expert coordination of Dr. Muzafar Ahmed Rather, the publicity Incharge of KDA Tourism Kishtwar.
During the interactive session with DC, Kishtwar, the participants shared their enriching experiences from the tour. They highlighted engaging interactions with key figures such as Director Tourism Kashmir, Raja Yaqoub, as well as experts and scientists, including Wiqar Bashir, Trans Himalayan Explorer, who imparted invaluable insights to enhance tourism skills in the region. Kishtwar Tourism Calander was gifted and Kishtwar Toursim Website was showcased to Director on the occasion by tour team.
In attendance at the interactive meeting were CEO Kishtwar Development Authority, Dr. Rishi Kumar Sharma, and AD Employment Kishtwar, Mamta Sudarshan, underscoring the collaborative spirit and commitment to fostering tourism entrepreneurship in the region.
