JAMMU, Apr 6: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Bar Association Jammu seeking implementation of J&K Advocates Welfare Funds Act, Division Bench of the State High Court comprising Chief Justice M M Kumar and Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur allowed two weeks time to the State to file the reply and directed the Registry to list the PIL on April 23, 2013.
In the PIL, it has been submitted that though the State enacted Advocates Welfare Fund Act but unfortunately the same remained in a dormant state as not implemented till the year 2011.
“Inspite of Act being notified for its implementation, the respondents have not taken any steps for implementation”, the counsel for the PIL said while seeking direction to State respondents for implementation of J&K Advocates Welfare Fund Act.
