DB seeks personal appearance of CS

JAMMU, Nov 26: Division Bench of State High Court comprising Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Bansi Lal Bhat today directed the Chief Secretary and Commissioner Secretary Higher Education to appear in person on December 1, 2015 for not implementing the directions.
The direction was issued in a contempt petition in a PIL, which was disposed of in the year 2002 on the assurance of the then Advocate General that Government has already taken steps for setting up of a Degree College at Majalata.
It was also stated at that time that Government will accord active consideration to such claim in respect of Chenani, Sunderbani and Kalakote areas and that effort would be made to submit concrete proposals and get the same cleared as far as possible during the current financial year (2002).
After hearing Advocate Abhinav Sharma appearing for the contempt petition whereas AAG Rakesh Khajuria appearing for the State, DB directed Chief Secretary and Commissioner Secretary Higher Education to appear in person on December 1, 2015 for not implementing the judgment.
