JAMMU, Sept 17: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by a social activist Attar Singh against establishment of industrial unit in residential area, Division Bench of the High Court comprising Justice AM Magrey and Justice BL Bhat today issued notice to the Chief Secretary, Director Industries and others.
In the petition, social activist has submitted that he is living in Sohawara where Sarveshar Overseas has set-up an industrial unit despite the fact that the same was against the laid down laws. He further submitted that industrial unit was causing air and water pollution.
After hearing Advocate Amit Gupta for the PIL, DB issued notice to Chief Secretary, Director Industries Jammu, Regional Director Pollution Control Board, Inspector General of Police and M/s Sarveshwar Overseas with the directions to file objections within two weeks.
