DB grants time for furnishing info on constitution of CPCR

JAMMU, June 30: A Division Bench of High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh comprising Chief Justice Arun Palli and Justice Rajnesh Oswal has granted time to apprise the court regarding constitution of Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CPCR).
The order has been passed in the PILs seeking establishment and functioning of the Commission for Protection of Child Rights in the Union Territory.

Today when the matter was taken-up for hearing, Senior Additional Advocate General A R Malik, with reference to the averment made in Para 7 of the status report dated May 29, 2025, submitted that the process as regards the scrutiny of the applications, received by respondent authority, is in progress.
The DB observed, “as indicated in the affidavit the process shall be concluded within four weeks from today, whereupon, not much time would be required to constitute the Commission for Protection of Child Rights”.
The DB adjourned the matter for August 13, 2025 to apprise the court of the further progress made in this regard.
