JAMMU, Feb 22: In a Miscellaneous Petition highlighting undue security cover to ex-PRO to ex-DyCM, Division Bench of the State High Court comprising Chief Justice Badar Durrez Ahmed and Justice Ali Mohammed Magrey issued notices to General Administration Department and Home Secretaries for filing response within two weeks.
When this Miscellaneous Petition came up for hearing, Advocate Sheikh Shakeel Ahmed with Advocates Rahul Raina, Suraj Singh and Supriya Chouhan  appearing for the PIL submitted that the State High Court had passed strictures against the former SSPs for providing undue  security  cover to Forest  Guard Kewal Kumar Sharma. The DB vide its order dated February 3, 2016 had reserved the liberty to the petitioner to approach the competent  authority in the State Government with regard to the initiation of departmental action against the delinquent former SSPs.
“On May, 9, 2016 the petitioner approached Chief Secretary, Commissioner Secretaries of GAD and Home by lodging a complaint for initiating disciplinary action against two IPS officers Atul Goel and Anand Jain. However, till date no action has been initiated  against them”, Advocate Ahmed said, adding “both GAD and Home Department are just delaying the matter in order to shield the high profile IPS officers who provided undue security cover to the Forest Guard turned Additional PRO to then Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand”.
After considering the submissions of Advocate Ahmed, the Division Bench directed Commissioner Secretaries of GAD and Home Department to file their response to the fresh Miscellaneous Petition within two weeks.
