JAMMU, June 11: Division Bench of High Court comprising Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Rajnesh Oswal has granted last opportunity for filing response regarding the legislation on violence against the healthcare professionals.
While hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in which Division Bench had raised a query regarding addressing issues of safety, care, health and violence against healthcare professionals and clinical establishment, Vishal Sharma ASGI submitted that despite intimation, he has not received any response from the concerned Ministry.
Accordingly, DB granted last opportunity for filing response in terms of previous order failing which the DB will be compelled to take strict view.
“A joint report dated 10th June 2020 has been filed by T M Shamshi, ASGI on some issues and it has been mentioned that there is no instance of violence against healthcare professionals or property but in our present consideration, we have not asked for this report but were concerned with the need for legislation on the subject”, the DB said and directed T M Shamshi to file a report on the issue which is under consideration.
