JAMMU, Feb 24: Dr Veethika Tikoo, renowned Santoor Maestro from Jammu Kashmir having a good reputation especially in the music field of classical and Sufiyana Santoor playing has been honoured to perform in the Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi.
Invited by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, Dr.Tikoo was honoured to perform in the presence of President of Bharat, Draupadi Murmu , Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and President of Brazil, Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva along with high powered delegation who were a part of AI impact summit.
Dr. Veethika youngest and the only female Santoor Vadika has represented to promote the musical heritage of Jammu and Kashmir.
It is noteworthy to know the glorious achievements of Dr.Veethika Tikoo ,a highly accomplished Santoor artist who has performed extensively across India and overseas ,holds the distinction of being the first Santoor Vadika to perform at the European Parliament.
Dr.Veethika accompanied by Saubhagya Gandharv on flute, Nageshwar Lal Karan on Tabla has played varieties of Indian Raaga, Hamsadhawani, Yaman, Chandrakauns and Pahadi.
In the end by accomplished ensemble of classical instruments, showcasing the very best of our musical heritage their artistry on Santoor, Flute and Tabla . Together, they presented a beautiful journey through Indian classical Raagas.
The presenting of Jammu and Kashmir by Dr.Veethika Tikoo in this prestigious programme is being seen as a proud moment for Jammu and Kashmir’s cultural fraternity.
