The main objective was to meet aspirations and give encouragement to the Dalit writers, thinkers, scholars, intellectuals and bring them together on one platform.
The objective of the programme is to educate the Dalit masses about the contributions of Dalit leaders and make them aware of their rights and bring awakening against injustice, atrocities, harassment, besides encouraging them for getting education.
RL Bharti also spoke on the occasion and stressed for getting education and bring in togetherness.
BR Kundal, while addressing the gathering thanked for their participation in this meeting and sought their presence, when invited in future too.
Assuring of his total and full involvement, with vigour, in ameliorating and giving voice to the millions of voiceless people, he shared his vision in making this institution, vibrant and exhorted the Samaj at large to become stake holders in this institution by becoming members and send their views in writing as well so that this institution becomes vibrant, useful and meaningful.
Gathering was informed by him that Jammu is part of the Rashtriya Dalit Sahitya Akademi New Delhi and like J&K has branches in almost all the states of the country. The broad organisational structural and functions of the state units are in line with the national institute. After Bubu Parmanand, left for his heavenly abode, Akademi became dysfunctional, though skeleton activities were carried on, besides taking care of the assets so created, hence requires total community assistance, in bringing it back on rails.
