Dalai Lama to visit Ladakh for month-long stay

LEH, June 26: His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama will visit Ladakh on July 12 for a month-long stay, the Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA) announced today.
According to a letter addressed to Chhering Dorjay Lakrook, President, Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA) by Tenzin Taklha, Secretary to the Dalai Lama, His Holiness will reach Leh on Saturday, July 12, and take a few days to rest and acclimatize before beginning his engagements.

A visit to Zanskar is being considered for later in the month, though specific dates are yet to be finalised.
The LBA confirmed the schedule and expressed joy over the upcoming visit.
“As per information received from the office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, it is with great joy that I share the good news of the finalized date of the visit of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, to Ladakh on July 12, 2025. I also inform that His Holiness will visit Zanskar for several days later in July,” the LBA Secretary, Tenzin Taklha said.
Meanwhile, preparations have already begun in Zanskar, especially at Karsha Monastery, in anticipation of possible teachings.
However, no official announcement has been made yet regarding public teachings in Leh or Zanskar.
The detailed programme of His Holiness’s engagements is expected to be released after his arrival in Ladakh, following the usual practice.
