JAMMU, May 30: Doctors Association Jammu (DAJ) will hold protest across Jammu region while bearing black bands on June 1, without hampering the patient care, to voice their protest against statements of Baba Ramdev against corona warriors and modern medicine.
President of DAJ Dr Balvinder Singh said that recent comments by Baba Ramdev against modern medicine and its practitioners have hurt entire medical fraternity of this country. “The statement of Baba Ramdev at a time when frontline health care workers are waging a war against an invisible enemy is irresponsible and highly condemnable,” he added.
The DAJ president said that ever since WHO declared COVID-19 a global pandemic, it was the frontline health care workers who took up the challenge of meeting this killer invisible enemy head on, without caring for their own safety or of their family but issuing such vitriolic & hateful statements against frontline health workers mocks them and their sacrifice.
“Thousands of frontline health workers have perished in this pandemic but instead of showing gratitude towards them, Ramdev was seen mocking them in the shallowest perverse manner,” he added.
General secretary of DAJ Dr Manjeet Singh said the battle against SARS CoV 2 pandemic has been led by none other than our PM, it was he who celebrated the efforts and sacrifice of frontline health care workers by asking Indians to clap and light diyas last year.
“The guidelines for COVID-19 treatment have been issued time to time by MoHFW & ICMR. By challenging the treatment guidelines, Ramdev has raised a question mark on this Government led by PM Modi and other Government bodies itself. It is the job of Government, MoHFW & ICMR to take him on and make him face the full force of law,” he added.
Both, DAJ president and general secretary appealed Lt Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha to press the Central Government for taking necessary action against Baba Ram Dev.
