RAJOURI, Aug 29: A deputation of daily wagers from different departments which includes PHE, Social Forestry and PDD under the leadership of its leader Tariq Shawl called on MLC Vibodh Gupta and apprised him of the problems being faced by them.
They informed Vibodh Gupta that inspite of the fact that their names figured in the final list of departments, they are not getting their salary on time.
They appealed to MLC that many festivals like Eid, Dussehra and Diwali are approaching and they want that their salaries should be released before them.
After listening to the issues raised by the deputationists, MLC told them that the Coalition Government is committed to resolve this long pending demand and it has started process of identification of daily wagers by online filing of their particulars which is almost complete.
He further added that during the tenure of present Coalition Government no daily wager was appointed because the daily wagers appointed by previous Governments were not regularised and the previous Government just exploited them and make false promises of regularisation.
He told them that a separate budget will be kept for their salary and it will be resolved permanently and he added that Government is well aware of problems being faced by them focusing on regularisation of daily wagers.
Vibodh assured them that he will take up matter with higher authorities so that they can get their salary before festivals.
