JAMMU, Nov 4: A daily wager has been booked by Police Station Janipur for allegedly committing rape with a woman on the pretext of marriage.
On the complaint of the victim, a resident of Janipur Colony, one Sunil Kumar of Kishtwar has been booked under the relevant sections of the BNS registered at Police Station Janipur, a police official said. Quoting the complainant, he said, the accused had befriended her in the year 2023 and was committing crime with her since then.
Recently, when the victim approached the accused for marriage, he said, the latter refused outrightly, forcing her lodge a police complaint.
“While an FIR under the relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Janipur, further investigations are underway,” a police official said.
According to him, the accused is a daily wager associated with the PHE Department.
