SAMBA, Apr 4: A cyclist lost his life in a tragic road accident on the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway, near the Samba Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) office, on Saturday morning.
According to reports, the cyclist was riding along the roadside on an errand when he was suddenly hit by a police vehicle, sustaining critical injuries. The injured was immediately rushed to the District Hospital, Samba, in the police vehicle; however, doctors there pronounced him dead upon arrival.
The deceased has been identified as Dhrub Chand (60), son of Tannu Ram, a resident of Badheri, Samba. Following a post-mortem examination, the body was handed over to the family members for the final rites. Meanwhile, the police have registered a case in connection with the incident and have initiated further investigation.
