JAMMU, Nov 12: The Cyber Police Jammu has facilitated the recovery of Rs 39.37 lakh in 12 different cyber fraud cases over the last 20 days.
The recovered amount has been refunded to the victims in compliance with the court directions.
Officials said the total fraud amount in these cases was Rs 59.72 lakh, which had been reported through the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (NCRP).
After timely coordination with banks and technical verification, they said, the investigating teams ensured the restitution of a significant portion of the defrauded money.
The Cyber Police Jammu has also been conducting awareness programmes in schools, colleges, and institutions to educate the citizens about online safety, financial scams, and responsible digital behaviour, aiming to create a more secure cyber environment.
