VIJAYPUR, Apr 16: The Police Technical Training Institute (PTTI) Vijaypur organized a lecture on cyber crime awareness to educate police personnel and trainees about the growing threat of online fraud.
The session focused on cyber scams carried out through mobile calls and SMS, which are increasingly targeting unsuspecting citizens.
A three-member team from the Department of Telecommunication, Government of India, led by Rahur Kumar Sachan, DDG (Security) J&K LSA, was invited to deliver the lecture.
The team provided valuable insights into various types of cyber crimes and offered practical tips to avoid falling victim to such frauds.
They emphasized the importance of not sharing sensitive information such as OTPs, bank details and passwords over the phone.
To strengthen the fight against cyber crime, the team also introduced the Sanchar Saathi App launched by the Ministry of Communication.
The App, available on both mobile and web platforms, allows users to report fraudulent activities, block lost or stolen devices, and manage mobile connections more securely.
The team highlighted how this app could assist police personnel during investigations and help the general public stay protected from cyber threats.
Speaking on the occasion, Dushyant Sharma, Principal PTTI Vijaypur, stressed the importance of such training sessions in equipping police officers with the latest tools and knowledge.
He encouraged all participants to make use of the Sanchar Saathi App and share awareness among others.
Officers including Raj Kumar, Khushwant Singh, and others were also present during the session.
