Cyber awareness programme held

SRINAGAR, Jan 3: Cyber Crime Investigation Centre for Excellence (CICE), Crime Branch Kashmir organised a cyber awareness programme at Vidyanza IlT Coaching Institute in collaboration with Soura Traders Federation.
The participating students, faculty members of the coaching institute and representatives of Soura Traders Federation were educated about the possible threats and risks in the cyber world where every end user is at risk if the proper cyber hygiene practices are not followed.
The participants were made aware about loopholes/threats that a cyber criminal/fraudster may exploit to commit a cyber crime including financial fraud which are on rise.
The participants were educated about various cyber crime reporting portals and 1930 helpline for reporting cyber crime incidents immediately.
The initial talk during the programme was delivered by Deputy Superintendent of Police (SHO) Police Station CICE, Srinagar, Ashiq Hussain Malik.
He gave a detailed insight to the participants about how cyber fraudsters commit cyber crimes like digital arrest, investment frauds, email hacks, whatsapp hacks, apk files, lottery scams, use of AI and how one can avoid such incidents in future.
The programme included detailed power point presentations by Inspector Nasir Syed Kirmani, Inspector Arshid Mustafa and Inspector Masroor Ahmad.
Around 300 persons participated in the programme.
