MENDHAR, July 29: A flash flood during heavy rain today washed away a culvert on Mendhar – Chattral road in Mendhar Sub- Division, snapping link of about half a dozen villages.
Reports said that there was heavy rain in the area this morning and it caused flood in several nallahs and Mendhar river. Due to flash flood in Chattral Nallah, the culvert temporarily repaired by R&B Mendhar authorities, was washed away. Due to this the vehicular movement on the road was snapped.
After the flood water receded, the people started moving through the nallah and the vehicles started trans-ship movement on the either side. The link to Kalaban, Chattral, Checkbonala and Bhatidhar villages has been snapped.
